{"id":68104,"date":"2024-08-13T13:57:06","date_gmt":"2024-08-13T10:57:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/amlak.net.sa\/?p=68104"},"modified":"2025-11-26T02:38:20","modified_gmt":"2025-11-26T02:38:20","slug":"%d9%87%d9%8a%d8%a6%d8%a9-%d9%81%d9%86%d9%88%d9%86-%d8%a7%d9%84%d8%b9%d9%85%d8%a7%d8%b1%d8%a9-%d9%88%d8%a7%d9%84%d8%aa%d8%b5%d9%85%d9%8a%d9%85-%d8%aa%d8%aa%d9%88%d9%91%d8%ac-%d8%a7%d9%84%d9%85%d8%b4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/amlak.net.sa\/en\/68104\/","title":{"rendered":"Architecture and Design Authority recognizes winning projects of the King Salman Urban Charter Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Under the auspices of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud \u2013 may Allah protect him \u2013 the Architecture and Design Arts Authority organized the final ceremony last Sunday evening. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/amlak.net.sa\/en\/68015\/\">For the King Salman Al-Thani Charter Award<\/a><\/strong> At its first session, which is part of the strategy to activate the initiative <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/amlak.net.sa\/en\/57320\/\">King Salman Urban Charter<\/a><\/strong>Where the shortlisted projects were announced and the winning projects that adopted the Charter methodology and embodied its values were crowned.<\/p>\n<p>In her speech during the ceremony, Dr. Soma Ismail, Executive President of the Architecture and Design Arts Authority, expressed her gratitude and appreciation to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister \u2013 may Allah protect them \u2013 for their unlimited support for the architecture and design sector, which contributes to achieving the aspirations of the wise leadership to build a promising future.<\/p>\n<p>It also extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to His Highness Prince Bader bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Board of Directors. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/archdesign.moc.gov.sa\/\">Architecture and Design Authority<\/a> <\/strong>On his constant support and tireless efforts to strengthen the position of Saudi culture locally and globally, and his endless support for the architecture and design sector.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Somaia Al-Salem praised all the efforts made by the working team at the Architecture and Design Arts Authority and the participating committees to make the award a success in its first edition, and announced the periodicity of the award to be held every two years, inviting all owners of distinguished architectural projects, interested parties, and creative students to prepare to participate.<\/p>\n<p>The ceremony included several segments, including a visual presentation of the King Salman Al-Saud Charter and a presentation of the evaluation phase and its procedures, in which residents shared their experiences and feelings about the projects participating in the award. This was followed by a speech delivered by Dr. Adrian Lhood, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at the Royal College of Art in London, who was also the chairman of the jury, followed by a proclamation of the winners of the award and their awards.<\/p>\n<p>Following this, the accompanying exhibition was opened, which showcases the important role that King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud \u2013 may Allah preserve him \u2013 played during his reign in the Riyadh region, and his vision linked to the historical depth and pride in the Kingdom\u2019s identity and its spatial and social characteristics, which led to the diversity of solutions and architectural creativity inspired by the depth of our culture. The exhibition also clarifies the values of the six principles and showcases the shortlisted projects and winning projects in the award\u2019s tracks, and concludes with an interactive virtual experience of the book of the Charter.<\/p>\n<p>The short list in the final stage included a number of diverse projects from different regions of the Kingdom, and the jury determined 9 of them to be finalists, with their distribution among the three award tracks as follows: for the track of built projects, five projects were awarded the prize: the King Abdulaziz World Cultural Center (Al-Tharaya) in the city of Al-Dhahran, the Banian Terrace Resort project in the city of Al-Rawah, the Dar Rahmaniya project in the city of Al-Ghat, the Grand Mosque project in Kafd in the city of Riyadh, and the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology in Riyadh. As for the track of non-built projects, the award went to the project of the sports track in the city of Riyadh, the project of the mihrab, which serves all regions of the Kingdom through the construction of prayer rooms along the travel routes, and for the track of university student projects, the student Abdulaziz bin Ghanem Al-Talib from King Saud University won the design proposed for the King Salman Complex for the Arabic Language, and the student Sadim Al-Jabreen from Sheffield University in the United Kingdom won the design proposed for the Contemporary Neighborhood project.<\/p>\n<p>It is noteworthy that the prize journey lasted for eight months, and it passed through four stages, starting with the stage of participation and registration in the prize, followed by the stage of evaluation and assessment of the entries according to the announced criteria and conditions, then the technical evaluation by local and international experts for the projects, and then the stage of nomination and arbitration of the eligible entries by a jury composed of a number of experts in the field of architecture and design to determine the winning projects, and finally the
