The total sales of Saudi Arabia's 15 cement companies increased by 18% during August 2015 to reach 4.89 million tons compared to 4.16 million tons achieved during the same month in 2014.<\/p>\n
The sales of local cement companies increased by 8 %, equivalent to 40.7 million tons in the first 8 months of 2015 compared to the same period last year, benefiting from the continued growth of the construction sector. Only ten companies\u201c sales rose, while five companies\u201d sales declined, with Najran Cement leading the rise with 46%, while Tabuk Cement recorded a decline of 8%. Cement companies also recorded an increase in production of 8% during the last eight months of this year. Medina Cement, Najran Cement, Northern Cement, and Qassim Cement led the rise in sales with increases of 51%, 44%, 39%, and 36%, respectively.<\/p>\n
