American investor and expert in Real estate sector<\/a><\/strong> Brandon Turner revealed four mistakes he made when starting his investing career, warning against making them to ensure success in Real estate investment<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Turner, who today manages an estimated $1 billion worth of real estate encompassing more than 13,000 different units, spoke about his mistakes in a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account, as reported by CNN.<\/p>\n

Mistakes to avoid:<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Doing all the work himself<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Turner noted that his first mistake was his insistence on doing all the work himself, including repairing the house's roof and foundation, relying on himself and his wife.<\/p>\n

Instead, he explained, he should have learned how to build deals, how to write ads to buy houses, and how to hire quality people.<\/p>\n

\u201cFocusing on high-value skills such as deal-making is much better than getting caught up in work that can be done on the cheap.\u201d<\/p>\n

Selling real estate instead of holding it<\/span><\/h4>\n

Turner explained that selling the houses was a big mistake, noting that each house he sold is now worth two or three times what he sold it for. He commented: \u201cWealth is built by owning Real estate<\/a><\/strong> for the long term and not a quick sale.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ignore lenders' advice:<\/span><\/h4>\n

He noted that ignoring lenders' advice was a costly mistake. One lender advised him not to sell a particular house due to the risks, but he ignored the advice and turned to another lender, costing him a financial loss of $15,000 and taking him 8 months to recover from the mistake.<\/p>\n

Working on their own without access to support networks:<\/span><\/h4>\n

Turner added that starting to invest on his own without joining real estate groups or support networks was a big mistake, explaining that he made many mistakes that could have been avoided if he had participated in local real estate groups or clubs, saying: \u201cGoing solo led to a lot of mistakes.\u201d<\/p>\n
