held Ministry of Municipalities and Housing<\/a><\/strong> In its capacity as a sponsor of the GCC Unified Contractor Classification Initiative, a workshop entitled: \"GCC Unified Contractor Classification for GCC Countries\" was held in Riyadh, in the presence of representatives of the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) and a number of representatives of the Gulf countries, as part of the ongoing efforts to achieve the objectives of the GCC Contractor Classification Mechanism Guide for the Construction and Building Sector in the GCC countries.<\/p>\n

The initiative aims to raise the level of transparency and fairness in trade practices, promote economic integration among GCC countries, increase employment opportunities for businesses and raise the level of competitiveness, attracting more investments to GCC countries. The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing for Organizing City Operators, Engineer Abdulrahman Al-Arini, emphasized the importance of the Contractors<\/a> <\/strong>He pointed out that the implementation of the guideline will contribute to enhancing trade and investment exchange between the GCC countries in the construction and building sector, noting that its implementation will contribute to raising the efficiency of contractors and developing their capabilities, which will reflect positively on the quality of the implemented projects.<\/p>\n

He pointed out that the workshop discussed the development of standards and mechanisms for applying the unified Gulf classification, monitoring the challenges facing the sector in unifying systems and electronic services and proposed solutions to start implementation, and the importance of unified classification of contractors in achieving sustainable development in the GCC countries, in order to attract investments and enhance trade between the GCC countries.<\/p>\n
