A step towards the globalization of cities<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Abdullah bin Saleh<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In Report No. 122 issued by the Asbar Forum, which was held in December 2023, titled: \u201cThe Economy of Riyadh in Light of the Kingdom\u2019s Vision 2030,\u201d Mr. Fahd Al-Qasim discussed Riyadh\u2019s transformation into a global city and reviewed a number of indicators pointing to this, including those related to the city\u2019s infrastructure, which is characterized by various features, most notably: the availability of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=xMQq65dvvOE\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Transportation and Transit System <\/span><\/a><\/strong>A variety of transportation options, reflecting how the infrastructure keeps pace with the city\u2019s vision as it expands geographically.<\/p>\n<p>In the same report, Professor Faiza Al-Ajrush pointed out that one of the challenges is the city\u2019s heavy traffic congestion and its impact on the number of hours residents spend on the roads\u2014a factor that undoubtedly has a significant and decisive influence on quality of life. This has led to a phenomenon known as \u201cinternal migration,\u201d in which some city residents have been forced to move to other areas where conditions are better. I recall reading this report as Riyadh is witnessing the opening of <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/amlak_news\"><strong>\u00bb<\/strong><\/a>The \u00bbRiyadh Metro\u201d represents an important means of urban development and global integration, and while we recognize the challenges previously discussed by experts\u2014which have been addressed and mitigated\u2014all of this increases the chances of realizing our aspirations, providing solutions, and enhancing the global standing of this city so dear to our hearts, This achievement was preceded by the establishment and operation of public transportation, which has gained its own users and has had an impact on the travel behavior of various segments of society.
