The Ministry of Housing has begun merging its branches in major cities with those of the Real Estate Development Fund to leverage the Fund\u2019s expertise in distributing loans, dealing directly with eligible applicants, and processing their applications. This step, which has already begun in Riyadh, is part of the Ministry\u2019s restructuring efforts in preparation for a new phase of work aimed at activating its role in serving citizens and enabling them to secure housing.<\/p>\n
The Ministry attributes this trend to efforts to improve performance efficiency and to organize initiatives that enable citizens to access the Ministry\u2019s products, such as loans, land and loan programs, and leveraging the Fund\u2019s experience in announcing the names of eligible citizens from among applicants to the Fund\u2019s land-based loan program, in preparation for activating other products supporting the Fund, chief among them the accelerated loan product, for which the winning financing entities will be announced by the administration shortly.<\/p>\n
In addition, a number of real estate developers specializing in residential construction believe that the only way to resolve the housing problem is through active and practical collaboration with the private sector, leveraging its experience in residential construction, especially in Saudi Arabia\u2019s major cities, which constitute the Kingdom\u2019s most important housing markets and are suffering from a severe housing crisis due to population growth and the influx of foreign workers into the Kingdom.<\/p>\n
The Real Estate Development Fund, established in 1974, plays a significant and tangible role in addressing the housing crisis through the loans it provides to citizens, The Fund seeks to strengthen its financial capabilities to ensure that the necessary loans are available to as many citizens as possible, and the Ministry of Housing currently oversees the Fund\u2019s operations and activities.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
