the past five years, with an average growth rate of 19.5% per year, with the total number of activities operating within the sector reaching 32,697 activities, within 13,608 commercial registers by the end of 2024.<br \/>An economic report issued by the Madinah Chamber yesterday reviewed the indicators of the most prominent economic sectors in the region, indicating that the growth rate of the construction sector activities in the region according to commercial records for 2024 amounted to 25.6% compared to last year, and the sector achieved a growth in its total activity by 11%, which reflects the boom in the contracting sector in the region, in addition to the sector's continued attraction to investors due to the supportive economic climate it provides.<br \/>The report described the construction sector as one of the main drivers of economic growth in the Medina region, and a reflection of the general trends of demand and investment in construction projects and real estate development, noting its essential role in developing infrastructure and promoting real estate investment, in addition to being one of the most \u201cdynamic\u201d sectors at the level of supply and demand, and its data reflects a growth in the number of construction workers, indicating that the sector accounts for more than 24% of total employment, making it the largest labor-employing sector in the region.<br \/>The report attributed the growth of employment trends in the construction sector to the impact of the launch of major projects related to the region's urbanization plans, in addition to the acceleration of government and private projects, noting that the most promising investment activities in the sector include housing projects as part of government initiatives, infrastructure projects, transportation projects, development programs, and the development of hotels and facilities.<br \/>The report reviewed the opportunities for growth of the contracting, construction and building sector in the region through the expansion of housing projects, infrastructure development, and the growth of the tourism sector, as stimulating factors to increase demand for the construction sector, addressing the initiatives provided by the Contractors Committee at the Medina Chamber to support the sector by qualifying contractors, organizing specialized workshops, cooperating with legislative and financial authorities to address regulatory challenges, hosting trade delegations to showcase experiences and expertise, and supporting the empowerment of
