The Higher Authority for the Development of Riyadh City approved a number of mega investment projects, led by the Mall of Saudi Arabia project for the UAE's Majid Al Futtaim Group, Riyadh Avenue for the Kuwaiti Al Shaya Group, in addition to a closed residential complex project in the Rimal neighborhood. This came during the presidency of HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Higher Authority for the Development of Riyadh City, during the first meeting of the Higher Authority for 1437 AH, last Tuesday, 21 Muharram, 1437 AH, at the Authority's headquarters in Al Sefarat neighborhood.<\/p>\n

Promoting smart investments in Riyadh<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

KDIPA's approval of these projects is a confirmation of investors' confidence in this country, its government and leadership, and contributes to attracting projects of high quality and excellence, which represent an important and beneficial addition to the city and its residents.<\/p>\n

His Highness emphasized that the investor who comes to invest in Riyadh will have all the information about the investment opportunities he is targeting and will be able to see the various plans and visions set to stimulate and encourage investments in the city. His Highness added that the meeting approved the transformation of Riyadh into a smart city after the Supreme Authority conducted in-depth studies on this direction and discussed the development of the area around King Abdullah Financial Center to appear at the hoped-for level.<\/p>\n

At the end of his statement, HH The Amir thanked the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, His Highness the Crown Prince, and His Highness the Deputy Crown Prince, may Allah protect them, for the support and encouragement given to the projects in the region, and said: \u201cI express my thanks and appreciation to my colleagues in the Supreme Authority and members of the Authority's Council, for the harmony and consistency with which they presented ideas and visions on the topics discussed at the meeting.\u201d<\/p>\n

Investment projects worth 21 billion riyals<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The meeting dealt with a number of topics and projects, including the approval of a comprehensive plan aimed at realizing the concept of a \u201csmart city\u201d in Riyadh, the approval of the urban design plan to improve the area surrounding the King Abdullah Financial Center, and the approval of amendments to the building controls in the neighborhoods of Jarir, Rafeea and Umm Al Hamam Al Gharbi: The meeting approved the establishment of a number of investment projects in Riyadh with a total value of about 21 billion riyals, including major commercial, recreational and residential complexes that include 3,400 residential units, five hotels with more than 1,900 rooms, hotel apartment buildings with 850 units, and five health facilities, which will contribute to creating more than 8,000 job opportunities, God willing, these projects include: The Emirati Majid Al Futtaim Group's project and the Kuwaiti Alshaya Group's Riyadh Avenue project, in addition to the establishment of a closed residential project with integrated facilities and public services in the Rimal neighborhood east of Riyadh, and the establishment of an integrated project for the Knowledge Colleges in Diriyah Governorate.<\/p>\n

\u201cSmart City in Riyadh\u201d concept outline<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

During the meeting, the meeting approved the Supreme Commission's preparation of a comprehensive plan to realize the concept of \u201cSmart City in Riyadh\u201d, which aims to activate the use of information and communication technology in all vital sectors of the city, including services, social, economic and others, in order to provide the best services to the city's residents and visitors, improve the quality of life, and reduce the impact on the environment in the city.<\/p>\n

The plan will enhance Riyadh's characteristics, features, advantages and projects that help realize the smart city concept in the city, such as: King Abdulaziz Public Transport Project, King Abdullah Financial Center Project, and the following projects: King Abdulaziz Public Transport Project, King Abdullah Financial Center Project, and \u201cTraffic Management\u201d projects: \"Traffic Management\", as well as utilizing the city's rich spatial and descriptive information base, urban observatory, and e-services provided by government and private entities, in addition to the city's predominantly young population and its modern infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Investment Projects in Riyadh<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Because Riyadh enjoys all the elements of leadership in many of its vital sectors, the economic sector in the city, thanks to God, is witnessing steady growth in its various fields, making Riyadh a favorite destination for pioneering projects and safe investments, and contributing to making it a preferred destination for serious investors from all over the world.<\/p>\n

The Supreme Authority for the Development of Riyadh has been keen to enhance the city's investment attractiveness, introduce developers and investors to the investment opportunities that the city hosts in its various sectors, the advantages and facilities available to them, and overcome all the difficulties they may face in conjunction with the concerned agencies, which has contributed, thank God, to Riyadh's embrace of a wide variety of major development projects and programs that will, God willing, constitute a major breakthrough in the development process of the city in particular, and the Kingdom in general.<\/p>\n

In light of this, and as part of its efforts to attract major investment projects in the city, and its support and encouragement of private sector initiatives to establish integrated projects that increase the number of housing units in the city and provide places for shopping and entertainment with modern design ideas to serve the city and its residents, the Supreme Commission approved the establishment of a number of investment projects in the city of Riyadh, including.<\/p>\n

Majid Al Futtaim's Mall of Saudi Arabia project:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The \u201dMall of Saudi Arabia\u201d project is one of the integrated projects and the land area allocated to it was estimated at about 866 thousand square meters, at an estimated cost of about 10.The project consists of a commercial center, a snow park, three hotels with 1406 rooms, three buildings for hotel apartments containing 850 units, in addition to three office towers and 1650 residential units, and the project will contribute, God willing, to the creation of 6000 job opportunities, and it is known that the project is located at the intersection of two bus routes within the public transportation project in Riyadh, and the project is located at the intersection of Al-Thumama Road with Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq Road \u201cMay God be pleased with him\u201d in the Narjis neighborhood in the north of the city of Riyadh.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cRiyadh Avenue\u201d project for Kuwait's Alshaya Group:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The project has been allocated an area of 391 thousand square meters, at an estimated cost of 6.5 billion riyals. The project consists of a commercial center, two hotel towers with 500 rooms, two residential towers containing 1050 units, and a medical tower with 240 clinics. The project is expected to provide 2000 job opportunities, God willing, and the investor will work to link his project with the train track on the Olaya axis, and the project is located at the intersection of King Fahd Road and King Salman Road, in the Malqa neighborhood in the north of Riyadh.<\/p>\n

Closed Residential Complex Project in Al Rimal Neighborhood<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The project consists of a closed residential complex with integrated facilities and public services, located in the Rimal neighborhood east of Riyadh on a land area of about 295,000 square meters, and includes residential villas, apartments, a commercial center, and a project management building.<\/p>\n

Knowledge Colleges Project in Diriyah Governorate<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The project is located on King Khalid Road in Diriyah Governorate, on a land area of 118,885 square meters, and consists of a number of facilities, including: Hospital, Academic Main Building, Hotel, College of Medical Sciences, College of Medicine, Outpatient Clinics, Mosque, Library, Playgrounds, and a service station.<\/p>\n

At the end of the meeting, a short film on the progress of the King Abdulaziz Public Transport Project in Riyadh - train and buses was shown, which included the most prominent works currently being implemented along the tracks of the train and bus networks in various parts of the city.<\/p>\n
