His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Industry Affairs, Engineer Khalil bin Ibrahim bin Salma, launched the \u201cInnovation Factory Grants\u201d initiative to enable research and innovation in Industrial sector<\/a><\/strong>and support the development of new and innovative industrial products, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of Saudi industry globally.<\/p>\n

The initiative was launched during the inauguration ceremony of the Advanced Manufacturing and Production Center held in Riyadh yesterday, in the presence of Dr. Munir Al-Desouki, CEO of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, Dr. Mohammed Al-Otaibi, General Supervisor of the Research, Development and Innovation Development Authority, Engineer Majed Al-Arqoubi, CEO of the Saudi Industrial Cities and Technology Zones Authority, and Engineer Sulaiman Al-Mazrouei, CEO of the National Industry and Logistics Development Program (NILDP).
\nThe ceremony witnessed the signing of an agreement between the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and the Research, Innovation and Development Authority to activate the \u201cInnovation Factory Grants\u201d initiative to enable research and innovation in the industrial sector.<\/p>\n

The initiative focuses on empowering several groups, including factories<\/a> <\/strong>It also provides financial grants of up to two million riyals to support research projects between national factories and RDI centers, research projects in RDI centers with industrial applications, and research projects in RDI centers with industrial applications.<\/p>\n

The initiative, which is one of the initiatives to stimulate local industry, contributes to raising the competitiveness of the national industry by encouraging the research and innovation sector in industrial enterprises, supporting pioneering industrial projects, and benefiting from the innovations of national research centers to develop quality industrial products in promising sectors within the national strategy for industry.<\/p>\n

It aims to increase the number of factories practicing research and innovation activities, provide attractive job opportunities in industry for national research competencies, build effective partnerships between the industrial sector and the research, development and innovation sector, raise the quality of industrial innovation outputs, enhance the research and innovation capabilities of the industrial sector, and support the development of new innovative products in industry.<\/p>\n
