The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) released today the results of the Industrial Production Index (IPI) for April 2025, which showed that the IPI index increased by 3.1% compared to the similar month of the previous year (April 2024).
\nAccording to the bulletin, the mining and quarrying sub-index rose by 0.2% year-on-year, and the manufacturing sub-index rose by 7.4%.
\nThe sub-index for electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply activity decreased by 0.2%, while the sub-index for water supply, sanitation, waste management and treatment activity increased by 8.8% compared to April of the previous year.
\nThe results of the bulletin according to the main economic activities revealed that the index for oil activities in April 2025 increased by 4.3% compared to the same month of the previous year, and the index for non-oil activities increased by 0.1%.
\nIt is worth mentioning that GASTAT issues the Industrial Production Index on a monthly basis, to measure the relative changes in the quantities of industrial production, based on data from the industrial production survey, which is carried out on a selected sample of establishments operating in the targeted industrial sectors, including: Mining and quarrying, manufacturing, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning, water supply and sanitation, and waste management and treatment.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
