I declare Public Investment Fund<\/strong><\/a>, today, announced the establishment of \u201cExpo 2030 Riyadh Company,\u201d a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Fund, to undertake the development and operation of the facilities for the \u201cExpo 2030 Riyadh<\/strong><\/a>\u201c, the first edition of this global event to be hosted by the Kingdom, with a long-term investment in its infrastructure.<\/p>\n

In its statement, the fund explained that the new company will lead the implementation of the exhibition\u2019s master plan, which spans a massive area of 6 million square meters north of the capital, near the site of the future King Salman International Airport, making it one of the largest Expo sites in history. The site will also be directly connected to many of Riyadh\u2019s most prominent landmarks and vital centers.<\/p>\n

The exhibition, which will take place between October 1, 2030, and March 31, 2031, is expected to attract more than 40 million visitors, according to official estimates.<\/p>\n

The company\u2019s role is not limited to hosting the event; it will go on to transform the exhibition site, once the event has concluded, into a multicultural global village featuring retail facilities, restaurants, and a fully integrated residential community built to the highest international standards. This initiative aims to create a cutting-edge model for sustainable tourism that will cement Riyadh\u2019s position as a global cultural hub.<\/p>\n

The fund confirmed that the company will begin operations at an accelerated pace to achieve its goals, in collaboration with the public and private sectors\u2014both locally and internationally\u2014through partnerships in the fields of construction, event organization, and the development of cultural programs.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the event, Saad Al-Karoud, Head of the General Department of Domestic Real Estate Investments at the Public Investment Fund, said:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe establishment of Expo 2030 Riyadh aligns with the Fund\u2019s vision for the development of the real estate sector, and the company will benefit from the Fund\u2019s extensive investment network both domestically and globally.\u201d.<\/p>\n

Expo 2030 is expected to have a tremendous economic impact on the Kingdom, with its contribution to GDP during the construction phase estimated at approximately 241 billion Saudi riyals, creating about 171,000 direct and indirect jobs. During the operational phase, its annual contribution to GDP is expected to reach 21 billion riyals.<\/p>\n

The exhibition will give participating countries the opportunity to build permanent pavilions, which will become part of the site\u2019s sustainable facilities after the event concludes, thereby ensuring the long-term benefits of this global infrastructure.<\/p>\n

The city of Riyadh was awarded the honor of hosting this global event in November 2024, winning by a landslide in the first round of voting\u2014an achievement that reflects the world\u2019s confidence in the Kingdom\u2019s ability to host major events and realize the aspirations of Vision 2030.<\/p>\n
