An observatory report revealed\u201cinstallations<\/a><\/strong>\u201dIn the second quarter of 2025, the number of new commercial registrations exceeded 80,000, bringing the total number of existing commercial registrations to 1.7 million, according to a report issued by the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises.<\/p>\n

The report also highlighted promising opportunities in the education sector and the role of SMEs in Saudi Arabia's economic growth.<\/p>\n

Growth in business records<\/span><\/h4>\n

The report highlighted the significant increase in commercial records, as 39,366 records were registered in e-commerce, and the ownership of records was distributed between 38% for men and 47% for women, reflecting the expansion of commercial activities, especially in the field of e-commerce, which is witnessing great interest by entrepreneurs, with Riyadh region topping the list of new commercial records with 28,181 records, followed by Mecca with 14,498 records.<\/p>\n

Investment opportunities in the education sector<\/span><\/h4>\n

The report highlighted the education sector as one of the most promising investment areas, with the size of investment opportunities in this sector expected to exceed SAR 50 billion by 2030.<\/p>\n

The report noted that SMEs account for 98% of education establishments, reinforcing their vital role in the sector, and noted that the percentage of women's ownership of education establishments amounted to 39.4%.<\/p>\n

Supporting small businesses and Monsha'at programs\u201c<\/span><\/h4>\n

The report reviewed the programs of the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises to support entrepreneurs, such as the \u201cTomouh\u201d program, which benefited 3,175 enterprises during the second quarter of this year, and the role of the \u201cKafalah\u201d program, which has provided 121 billion riyals since its launch in 2006 to support 26,000 enterprises through 12 financing programs.<\/p>\n

Bold investment<\/span><\/h4>\n

The report highlighted the significant growth in the VC space, with Saudi startups raising SAR 3.225 billion in the first half of 2025 across 114 deals, this growth reflects the evolution of the sector and accounts for 56% of total VC investment in the MENA region.<\/p>\n

Riyadh is a pivotal economic center<\/span><\/h4>\n

The report emphasized that Riyadh continues to be a pivotal economic hub in the Kingdom, contributing 50% of non-oil GDP, and the regional headquarters attraction program has attracted more than 600 global companies to establish their headquarters in the city.<\/p>\n

The report noted that the Kingdom's private sector continues to record outstanding results thanks to the growth of non-oil investments, in addition to continued economic activity, and noted the role of the Authority's initiatives such as Monsha'at Academy and Mazaya Platform in supporting entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n
