His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Makkah Haram Visions Company, announced the launch of the King Salman Gate project as a mixed-use destination in Makkah.
\nKing Salman Gate spans a total building area of 12 million square meters next to the Grand Mosque.
\nThe project aims to achieve a qualitative leap in developing the infrastructure of the city of Makkah and the central area in particular to become a global model for urban development, to be a major contributor to support the efforts made to develop the area and facilitate the visit while providing high-quality services to the pilgrims and enriching their religious and cultural journey in line with the objectives of the program to serve the pilgrims.
\nThe King Salman Gate project is strategically located next to the Grand Mosque and is a mixed-use destination that aims to improve the system of services provided and provide residential, cultural and service facilities surrounding the Grand Mosque. The project adds capacity to accommodate nearly 900,000 worshipers in the internal prayer halls and external courtyards.
\nThe project is linked to public transportation to facilitate access to the Grand Mosque, and represents an exceptional blend of the rich architectural heritage of Makkah with the finest modern lifestyles, ensuring the highest levels of comfort. The project also aims to preserve the historical and cultural heritage of Makkah by developing and rehabilitating an area of approximately 19,000 square meters of cultural and heritage areas to enrich the experience of its visitors, as well as contribute to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in terms of economic diversification by creating more than 300,000 job opportunities by 2036, God willing.
\nThe King Salman Gate project is being developed by Haram Visions, a subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), to support the implementation of its strategy by raising the level of urban development in the area surrounding the Grand Mosque to become one of the best international development models.
