The Kingdom's Vision 2030 saw the entertainment sector as an important pillar in economic transformation, and an important source of diversifying sources of income, providing job opportunities, attracting local and foreign investment, as well as its contribution to stimulating the tourism sector, so it had a precise plan that made the Kingdom's cities global destinations for entertainment.<\/p>\n

How did entertainment become an economic engine in Saudi Arabia?<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

It all started with the founding of General Entertainment Authority<\/a> In 2016, the Saudi Entertainment Authority was established to coordinate and regulate the sector and ensure its contribution to achieving the goals of the Kingdom's vision. Indeed, the entertainment events such as concerts, seasons and festivals organized by the authority have become the focus of the world's attention, and the reopening of cinemas was a pivotal step that opened the door for rapid growth of the entertainment sector.<\/p>\n

The size of the entertainment and amusement market in the Kingdom in 2023 amounted to about 8.7 billion riyals, and the market size in 2028 is expected to reach 14.4 billion riyals, according to an official report for the Ministry of Investment<\/a> Entertainment is expected to contribute around 4.2% of GDP by 2030, and the number of licenses in the entertainment sector in the last five years has reached 2,189.<\/p>\n

The number of events organized during the last five years reached about 26,000 events with more than 75 million participants and visitors, and it is expected that the entertainment sector will provide about 450,000 new jobs by 2030, especially in light of the growth in the number of events.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
