The Ministry of Transportation is committed to completing all work related to the project in accordance with its schedule and the specified completion targets.<br \/>\nThis was clarified by Dr. Jabara bin Eid Al-Suraiseri, Minister of Transportation and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Organization of Railways, during his recent field tour, on which he was accompanied by the Organization\u2019s Director General and members of the Supervisory Committee. During his field tour of the project sites, Al-Suraiseri noted that significant progress had been made on all aspects of the project, particularly in the construction of stations, where the completion rate is approaching 75 %, and that major strides had been made over the past two months.<br \/>\nHe added that good progress has been made in the implementation of civil works and other infrastructure projects along the railway line, particularly in Zones 4 and 5, where track laying, the installation of power cables, and the erection of overhead power lines to supply electricity to trains are now being completed.<br \/>\nIt was confirmed on-site that the necessary testing has been completed and the equipment and materials have been prepared to begin implementation of Phase 2 in Zone 5, which was recently handed over to the contractor. Preparations are also underway to hand over Phase 6 of the 75-kilometer route, andthis, the entire area between the Madinah workshop and the King Abdullah Station in Rabigh is now under the responsibility of the Phase 2 project contractor.<br \/>\nThe Corporation\u2019s President, Mohammed bin Khalid Al-Suwaiq, explained that the Minister of Transportation and his accompanying delegation conducted a field tour along the route, starting from Madinah and passing through a number of work sites. There, the minister visited the train maintenance workshop in Madinah and was reassured by the work currently underway toprepare for the construction and establishment of a train maintenance and refurbishment workshop and its associated facilities, which is expected to be completed before the end of this year so that it will be ready to receive the first batch of trains that will arrive in the Kingdom soon.<br \/>\nHe also visited the construction site along the route and inspected a number of construction projects underway there, including the concrete beam production plant and the molds for laying electrical cables.
