\n The Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Affairs of the Arab League, Dr. Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Tuwaijri, revealed the value of the food gap in the Arab world, which is estimated at $60 billion, indicating that Sudan will have an important role in bridging this gap.
\nFollowing two separate meetings in Khartoum, the first with Sudanese Finance Minister Badruddin Mahmoud and the second with the Sudanese Employers Union, Al-Tuwaijri explained that Sudan has the ingredients to bridge the gap represented in three commodities: sugar, grains and the oil industry, praising Sudan's efforts to improve the investment climate and change the investment law to provide guarantees for investors and remove all obstacles that hinder Arab capital.
\nHe stressed that the recent Arab Summit focused on activating Arab partnerships and that the meeting of the Arab League Economic Council in Khartoum aims to come up with something tangible on the ground.
\nHe noted that the participation of businessmen within the university delegation indicates credibility and seriousness, calling for more facilities from Sudan to accelerate investment in the proposed projects.
\nHe expressed his aspiration to partner with the Sudanese private sector and work on exchanging expertise and transferring experiences to achieve the desired goal.
\nFor his part, the Sudanese minister renewed his country's welcome to Arab investors, stressing the provision of all facilities to achieve Arab food security, and announced that Sudan is an Arab free zone open to all investors. During his meeting with Al-Tuwaijri, the minister expressed Sudan's welcome for the proposal of the joint Arab stock exchange project presented by the delegation member, Dr. Safar Al-Harithi, Director General of the Joint Arab Stock Exchange, and its readiness to join it as a support for development.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
