Al-Shaya stated that the increase in water quantities in Riyadh by 190,000 cubic meters per day, in coordination with the Saline Water Desalination Corporation to increase the quantities of desalinated and imported water to the city of Riyadh, in addition to the quantities of water pumped daily from existing and new underground wells so that the total pumping currently becomes 1.8 million cubic meters per day, instead of 1.65 million cubic meters per day, making it a record pumping rates not reached during the past years. The Acting Director of Riyadh Business Unit explained the company's implementation of an early action plan to cope with the increasing demand during the summer season, which included investing 22 new water wells to support water sources in the capital Riyadh, to enhance the water reserve and meet the growing demand for water, as well as reducing the average days of pumping stops for the neighborhoods of the city of Riyadh, applying a programmed plan to maintain water stations and pumping booster stations, improve the water network, detect and repair leaks, improve the operating efficiency of filling stations (ashyab), improve water distribution capacity throughout the city and control pressure through the installation of regulator valves.
