Engineer Abdullah Al-Hammad, CEO of the General Real Estate Authority, confirmed that 80% of Riyadh's neighborhoods witnessed a significant decrease in Real estate prices<\/a><\/strong>after the recent decisions taken to regulate the market.<\/p>\n

In his remarks on Rotana Khalijiya's \u201cIn the Picture\u201d program, Al-Hammad pointed to real-life examples from several neighborhoods in the capital, where the price per square meter in Al-Khair neighborhood dropped to 1,820 riyals, in Arid neighborhood to 800 riyals, while the price per meter in Namar suburb reached 1,200 riyals.<\/p>\n

Al-Hammad added that stability is the main benefit achieved by the decision to stabilize rents in Riyadh for five years, as this decision aims to reduce price fluctuations and stabilize the real estate market in the city.<\/p>\n

As for the rest of the major cities, Al-Hammad explained that the gap between supply and demand in the real estate markets in Jeddah and Madinah is still at acceptable levels, reflecting a relative balance in those markets.<\/p>\n

He also talked about some of the laws governing the ownership of Real estate<\/a> <\/strong>In Saudi Arabia, he confirmed that foreigners, whether individuals or companies, are not allowed to own real estate in Mecca and Medina, which is in line with protecting the special religious character of these cities.<\/p>\n

Regarding foreign ownership, Hammad stressed that foreign investment in the real estate sector contributes to attracting more investments, creating job opportunities and boosting the national economy. He pointed out that foreigners who own real estate worth 4 million riyals or more can obtain \u201cprivileged residency,\u201d which reflects efforts to support the national economy and encourage foreign investments.<\/p>\n
