The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is witnessing a qualitative shift in energy management and energy efficiency, which enhances the sustainability of buildings and directly affects the real estate sector by reducing operational costs and increasing the value of real estate assets, in support of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.<\/p>\n

Significant energy savings<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

The Saudi Energy Efficiency Center (SEEC) confirmed that energy conservation efforts resulted in tangible savings exceeding 662,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day until the end of 2024, which contributes to reducing carbon emissions from buildings and industrial facilities, while the number of licensed energy efficiency service companies until 2025 reached about 55 companies, which reflects the expansion of the market and the professionalism of service providers.<\/p>\n

Strategic initiatives to minimize waste<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

There are a number of strategic initiatives to reduce waste, such as energy management in industrial facilities using ISO 50001 standards to improve performance and reduce waste, replacing old air conditioners with financial support of up to 1,000 riyals per device to contribute to reducing household electricity consumption, and the Kafaa Virtual House initiative, an interactive platform aimed at educating consumers on energy conservation behaviors and efficient use of appliances.<\/p>\n

Direct impact on the real estate sector<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

Energy management contributes to reducing operational costs, as buildings that adopt energy efficiency solutions record a significant reduction in electricity and air conditioning bills, increasing their attractiveness to tenants and investors alike. Energy-efficient buildings are usually classified as sustainable green buildings, which enhances their market value and attracts investors who focus on sustainability. Building energy management systems (BMS) enable accurate consumption monitoring and control of lighting and air conditioning, reducing waste and increasing operational efficiency in residential and commercial buildings.<\/p>\n

Improving energy efficiency is a strategic pillar for the Saudi real estate sector by enhancing the sustainability of buildings, reducing costs, and increasing their market value.
