His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province and Chairman of the Eastern Province Development Authority, today sponsored the launch of The third annual forum for city and regional development authorities<\/a><\/strong>organized by the Eastern Province Development Authority under the slogan \u201cWe plan cities ... for a prosperous future\u201d. In the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Emir of the Eastern Province, Deputy Chairman of the Eastern Province Development Authority, Chairman of the Executive Committee, a number of Their Excellencies and CEOs of development authorities in the Kingdom, and more than 500 participants representing the system of development authorities, strategic offices and government agencies, in addition to the participation of a group of local and international leaders, experts and specialists, and continues for two days in Al-Khobar Governorate.<\/p>\n

The Prince of Eastern Province emphasized that the development authorities, under the support of the wise leadership, have become one of the most important development possibilities to raise the quality of life and shape the future of Saudi cities, pointing out that the Kingdom's Vision 2030 has established clear principles in empowering regions and building prosperous local economies.<\/p>\n

He explained that the authorities play a pivotal and key role in realizing the concepts of sustainable development by exchanging expertise and experiences, expanding the horizons of partnership and cooperation between all authorities, and jointly working to make a qualitative leap in regional development to support economic and social growth.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cDevelopment is an integrated system that is made by man and for man, and what we are witnessing today from the integration of development authorities reflects institutional maturity and a unified national vision to build more quality, efficient and sustainable future cities. We hope that the outcomes of the forum will support the newly established strategic bodies and offices in documenting these experiences, optimizing work and raising the level of institutional performance.\u201d.<\/p>\n

For his part, the CEO of the Eastern Province Development Authority, Dr. Talal bin Nabil Al-Maghlouth, expressed his thanks to HH the Emir of the Eastern Province and HH the Deputy Emir for their support for the forum and the efforts of the Authority, stressing that the forum is an important national platform that brings together the experiences of development authorities to exchange knowledge and transfer successful experiences, pointing out that its agenda includes (35) dialogue sessions in which a group of international experts in the fields of urban planning, economic development and sustainability participate.<\/p>\n

He pointed out that the diversity of experiences of the Kingdom's development authorities reflects the richness of the urban identity of Saudi cities and their different characteristics, but the common goal is to build cities that are more adaptable to the future, attract investments and improve the quality of life.<\/p>\n

The CEO of the Support Center for Development Authorities and Strategic Offices, Engineer Yasser bin Sulaiman Al-Dawood, stressed that this forum represents an extension of the national efforts exerted to upgrade the development system in the Kingdom and that the real success in the development system is achieved through integration, coordination and teamwork.<\/p>\n

He explained that the Eastern Province, with its economic openness and urban diversity, is a pioneering model in balanced development, stressing the importance of sharing experiences and expertise between authorities to ensure integration of efforts and achieve sustainable development in Saudi cities.<\/p>\n

At the end of the ceremony, HH the Emir of the Eastern Province honored the participants and speakers, and handed over the banner of organizing the forum to the Asir Development Authority, which will host the forum in its next edition.<\/p>\n

It is noteworthy that the two-day forum includes dialogue sessions and specialized workshops that review the experiences of development authorities in urban planning and governance, global models in the development of smart cities, strategies to empower the local economy and attract investments, environmental sustainability solutions, urban greening, experiences of empowering communities and enhancing the quality of life, and the signing of several cooperation agreements between the participating entities to enhance integration between the authorities and the government and private sectors.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
