The Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Construction announced the nomination of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as the head of the Executive Office for the next session (2026-2027), in recognition of its leading role in developing the housing sector, promoting joint Arab action, and adopting policies and practices that contribute to upgrading housing systems in Arab countries.<\/p>\n
This came during the 42nd session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Construction, held in the Qatari capital Doha, where His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Haqeel, reviewed the achievements of Housing sector<\/a><\/strong> in the Kingdom, and its experience in building an integrated housing system that supports quality of life and housing stability.<\/p>\n In his opening speech, he emphasized that the housing sector is receiving growing attention from the leaders of Arab countries, as it represents a key axis in enhancing the quality of life of Arab citizens and supporting social and economic stability, pointing out the importance of unifying efforts and exchanging expertise to face common challenges in the housing sector.<\/p>\n His Excellency expressed his thanks to the State of Qatar for hosting the session, praising that the meeting of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Construction provides an effective platform to discuss the latest developments in the sector, anticipate its future trends, and exchange successful experiences that contribute to the development of housing policies and plans in Arab countries.<\/p>\n He explained that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has worked over the past years to develop an integrated system of housing programs and initiatives, focusing on diversifying housing options, enabling citizens to own property through sustainable solutions, enhancing partnership with the private sector, and raising the efficiency of the real estate financing system, in order to achieve balance and sustainability in the real estate market.<\/p>\n He pointed out that these efforts contributed to raising the homeownership rate to 65.4% by the end of 2024, exceeding the 2025 target, within the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 to improve the quality of life and build integrated residential communities.<\/p>\n He pointed out that the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister - may God protect him - have been a major pillar in consolidating the real estate balance and its sustainability, enhancing the ability of the housing sector to meet the needs of citizens, as well as expanding the system of Developmental housing<\/a><\/strong> Supporting the most
