His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Eastern Province, inaugurated today The Global City Project\u201c<\/a> <\/strong>The project, which is considered one of the quality investment projects in the fields of tourism, entertainment and culture, was attended by His Excellency the Governor of the region, Engineer Fahad bin Mohammed Al Jubeir, a number of officials and leaders, and investors of the project from the Kingdom of Thailand, who were briefed during his field tour on the components of the project and its various facilities.<\/p>\n

His Highness emphasized that the \u201cInternational City\u201d project embodies a modern investment approach that reflects the region's promising economic and tourism components, pointing out that such projects contribute to diversifying economic activities, enhancing the attractiveness of cities, creating new investment and employment opportunities, as well as raising the quality of life for residents and visitors, drawing attention to the strategic location, advanced infrastructure and diversity of investment opportunities in the Eastern Province, making it an attractive environment for major projects and capable of attracting local, regional and international investments.<\/p>\n

For his part, HE Al Jubeir thanked HH the Emir of the Eastern Province for inaugurating this project, stressing that \u201cInternational City\u201d is a qualitative addition to the tourism and entertainment system in the region, and contributes to enhancing Dammam's status as an attractive destination for investment and entertainment, and supports the growing economic movement.<\/p>\n

He explained that the project comes within the directions of urban development aimed at involving the private sector in the development of quality projects and attracting local, Gulf and international investors, in order to enhance the competitiveness of the Eastern Province and raise the efficiency of tourism and entertainment services, taking advantage of its geographical location and the remarkable development achieved in the quality of life indicators.<\/p>\n

The Secretary of the Eastern Province explained that the \u201cInternational City\u201d project has a cultural and entertainment character that combines the civilizations of the world's countries in one location, through international pavilions that reflect the identity of each country in architecture, cuisine and heritage products, providing visitors with an integrated cultural experience suitable for different age groups, and extends over a total area of more than (650,000 square meters). The project covers a total area of more than 650,000 square meters, while the first phase was built on an area of about 250,000 square meters, and 15 international pavilions representing countries from the Arabian Gulf, Asia, Europe and Africa have been completed, bringing the total number of participating countries to 16 countries distributed in areas that reflect their diverse cultures.<\/p>\n

The project includes a central artificial lake with an area of approximately 200,000 square meters, which is a hub for tourism and entertainment activities, a floating market, an open theater with a capacity of 7,000 visitors with the possibility of increasing the capacity to 10,000 visitors, a modern amusement park with an area of approximately 15,000 square meters, a range of restaurants, cafes and various markets, and pedestrian paths that enhance the visitor experience.<\/p>\n

The project includes an integrated infrastructure that includes three main gates and parking lots that can accommodate more than 3,000 vehicles, ensuring easy access and smooth movement of visitors.<\/p>\n

The first phase focuses on entertainment and festival areas, including 16 international pavilions, 11 restaurants offering a mix of Arabic, Asian and international cuisine, as well as thematic neighborhoods such as Chinatown, Indian Alley and Central Food Street, in addition to carnival games, electronic skills games, live shows, a small zoo, and a garden of lights, in addition to carnival games, electronic skills games, live shows, a small zoo, and a garden of lights.<\/p>\n

The second phase includes expansion by adding new pavilions, exhibition areas and various restaurants, in addition to the establishment of an integrated water park that includes water slides, wave pools and calm rivers suitable for all ages, while the third phase culminates in the establishment of the World Amphitheater as an integrated complex for exhibitions and entertainment events supported by the latest display technologies, in addition to the development of an integrated modern residential neighborhood that contributes to the long-term sustainability of the project.<\/p>\n

The \u201cInternational City\u201d project is an important economic and tourism tributary for the Eastern Province, as it represents a qualitative addition that enhances the status of Dammam as a prominent urban and tourist destination in the Arabian Gulf, with expectations of attracting about (25,000) visitors per day after the completion of the operation of all its facilities, in addition to its contribution to stimulating the economic movement and providing quality job opportunities.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
