Launch King Salman International Airport<\/a><\/strong> -A Public Investment Fund (PIF) company, the construction of the third runway is a strategic move that reflects the ongoing progress in the development of the air traffic system and enhances the airport's operational readiness to support the rapid growth in air traffic in the long term.<\/p>\n

The construction of the third runway is part of the master plan King Salman International Airport<\/a><\/strong>It is a key milestone in the airport's future expansion path.<\/p>\n

The project is being carried out in collaboration with FCC Construction and Al-Mabani (general contractors). The runway system has been designed in accordance with the prevailing wind patterns in Riyadh, ensuring safe and efficient aircraft operations in various operational conditions.<\/p>\n

The current operational capacity is 65 aircraft movements per hour, and with the implementation of operational improvements and the introduction of the third runway, the capacity will increase to (85) aircraft movements per hour, contributing to enhancing operational efficiency and supporting long-term growth, as the third runway includes several connecting corridors that ensure smooth aircraft movement, while the length of the third runway is (4,200) meters.<\/p>\n

KSIA's Acting CEO, Marco Mejia, said: \u201cThe commencement of the third runway marks a pivotal step in the implementation of KSIA's master plan and reflects our commitment to building a world-class infrastructure capable of supporting future growth, enhancing operational efficiency, and expanding the long-haul network without constraints.\u201d.<\/p>\n

King Salman International Airport is a transformational national strategic project that embodies the Kingdom's ambition to strengthen Riyadh's position as a global capital and a major aviation hub. The project was announced by HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, Chairman of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs and Chairman of the Public Investment Fund, emphasizing the national importance of the project and its role in supporting the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.<\/p>\n

Located on the same site as Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport, the airport will include three new King Khalid terminals, residential and leisure assets, six runways, and logistics facilities.<\/p>\n

The airport extends over an area of 57 square kilometers, with a capacity of 100 million passengers per year, with a cargo capacity of more than two million tons per year by 2030.<\/p>\n
