{"id":97626,"date":"2026-01-04T14:09:18","date_gmt":"2026-01-04T11:09:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/amlak.net.sa\/?p=97626"},"modified":"2026-01-04T16:47:04","modified_gmt":"2026-01-04T13:47:04","slug":"12-%d9%85%d8%a7%d8%af%d8%a9-%d8%aa%d9%86%d8%b8%d9%91%d9%85-%d8%a2%d9%84%d9%8a%d8%a9-%d8%a7%d8%ae%d8%aa%d9%8a%d8%a7%d8%b1-%d8%a3%d8%b3%d9%85%d8%a7%d8%a1-%d8%a7%d9%84%d9%85%d8%b1%d8%a7%d9%81%d9%82","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/amlak.net.sa\/en\/97626\/","title":{"rendered":"12 Articles Regulating the Naming of Public Facilities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The official gazette \u00abUmm Al-Qura\u00bb published the rules and criteria governing the naming of <a href=\"https:\/\/amlak.net.sa\/en\/65977\/\"><strong>Public utilities<\/strong><\/a>following its official adoption by the Cabinet, and will come into effect 120 days after its publication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These rules include 12 articles that regulate the mechanism for choosing the names of public facilities, which means all public property, including but not limited to municipal, educational, cultural, sports, religious, and health facilities, as well as transportation facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Article 4 of the rules stipulates that no public facility may be named after Saudi Arabia's kings, crown princes, or heads of state without the approval of the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Article 5 also prohibits the naming of public facilities with names that contradict the provisions of Islamic law, or the use of the names of God, with the exception of a number of specific names: Peace, Justice, First, Light, Truth, Martyr, and King.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The eleventh article stated that these new rules cancel all previous provisions related to naming streets and squares contained in the rules for naming streets and squares and numbering properties in cities and villages of the Kingdom, issued by Cabinet Decision No. 155 dated 21\/7\/1406 AH, in addition to canceling any other provisions that conflict with the current rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to these rules, each government entity is responsible for naming public facilities within its jurisdiction, in accordance with the provisions of these rules and related regulations. The competent authorities are also required to verify the integrity of the proposed name holder's intellectual orientation and the absence of criminal or security cases, in coordination with the concerned authorities, taking into account the proportionality between the name of the facility and the legal status of the name holder.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><span
