The initiative involves compiling a periodic list of contractors who are defaulting on or violating regulations in municipal and housing projects, thereby excluding them from participating in new ministry tenders. This is part of efforts to regulate the contracting market and incentivize contractors to adhere to approved technical and implementation standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ministry explained that the initiative contributes to creating a more disciplined implementation environment through specialized committees that review and verify data received from bid evaluation committees in the municipalities. An updated list of contractors is issued semi-annually, providing greater opportunities for qualified contractors and limiting the awarding of projects to entities incapable of executing them efficiently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enhancing project quality<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The ministry affirmed that launching this initiative aligns with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which aims to enhance the efficiency of government spending, improve the quality of capital projects, and strengthen governance in government contracts. The initiative also contributes to supporting the development of urban infrastructure and building more efficient and sustainable cities, positively impacting the quality of life across the Kingdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She added that the "Contractor Coding" system is a regulatory tool that supports municipalities, enabling them to make more accurate decisions when selecting contractors, based on their capabilities and technical expertise, and ensuring the delivery of infrastructure projects to a high standard and according to approved schedules.
