The 23rd International Conference on Asset Management, Facilities and Maintenance, which was held from January 12 to 14, 2026, in Riyadh under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Emir of Riyadh, and with the wide participation of Their Excellencies and Excellencies, and an elite group of experts, specialists, academics and professionals from inside and outside the Kingdom, concluded in Riyadh. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference confirmed its position as a specialized professional and intellectual platform concerned with discussing strategic issues related to asset management, facilities and maintenance, and foreseeing the future of this vital sector in light of the rapid transformations witnessed by the world, especially in the areas of digital transformation, artificial intelligence, digital twinning, sustainability, and raising the efficiency of institutional performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Zuhair Al Sarraj, President of the conference, said that an intensive scientific and professional program was held, which included twenty-one specialized workshops and two training programs on excellence in asset management and professional facilities management. The conference was also accompanied by the AFM Expo, which included pavilions for about 70 participating entities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About 85 speakers and experts from 25 countries participated in the conference, offering their expertise and professional experiences through fourteen scientific sessions and panel discussions, in addition to hosting special meetings of the International Maintenance Organization (IMA), which strengthened the international dimension of the conference and its position as a leading professional platform in this vital sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

70 specialized pavilions at AFM Expo <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The AFM Expo, which included 70 specialized booths for assets, facilities and maintenance, provided an interactive platform to showcase technical solutions and innovations, and contributed to enhancing professional networking, exchanging experiences, and building professional partnerships between participants to support the development of this vital sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference was attended by a group of speakers and experts from different countries of the world, who presented their professional experiences and specialized insights through scientific sessions and rich panel discussions, which discussed the most prominent current challenges, future development opportunities, digital transformation models, artificial intelligence applications and digital twinning in asset management, facilities and maintenance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference also served as a platform for institutional dialogue and integration of roles between different sectors, and contributed to the transfer of knowledge and exchange of successful experiences, reflecting on the development of policies and practices, raising the level of operational efficiency, and achieving sustainability in the management of assets, facilities and maintenance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8 recommendations at the conference<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based on the working papers presented, the scientific and professional interventions and discussions, and the outcomes of the sessions and workshops, the participants issued a number of recommendations aimed at supporting development paths, enhancing digital transformation, and raising the efficiency of asset management, facilities and maintenance, as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1- Urge various organizations to pay attention to the applications of artificial intelligence and digital twinning, and provide the appropriate environment and procedures to activate their application in asset, facilities and maintenance management, as they have a great impact on raising the quality of performance and reducing costs, and to improve the methods of supporting maintenance decisions and the need to take into account cybersecurity requirements to protect operational and maintenance systems, and allocate a clear mechanism in maintenance and facilities management to update cybersecurity applications and reviews, and focus on asset risk assessments and system sensitivity to increase reliability and minimize risks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2- The participants recommend taking advantage of the guiding document for digital transformation steps in the field of facilities management and maintenance published by the International Maintenance Organization (IMA), developing measurement indicators to identify the feasibility of transformation steps to facilitate the exchange of experiences and expertise between Arab countries, comparing them with what has been achieved globally in this field, developing strategies to measure the readiness of facilities to apply digital twinning, and benefiting from the expertise of specialized consultants in this field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3- That the Saudi Association for Asset, Facility and Maintenance Management and the Arab Council for Asset, Facility and Maintenance Management, through the Omnitech Academy, develop a methodology and guidelines for the development of education and training programs to keep pace with the requirements of digital applications in facilities and maintenance management, and invite the Council to organize higher diploma or executive master's programs or international fellowships in the field of maintenance digitization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4- That the Arab Council for Asset, Facility and Maintenance Management and the Saudi Society for Asset, Facility and Maintenance Management adopt the launch of an electronic platform on the Council's online portal to provide an opportunity to exchange experiences between organizations, bodies and companies in the Arab countries, to include successful experiences in digital transformation in maintenance and digital twinning applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5- Facilities and maintenance departments should develop systematic strategies and policies for data collection and analysis plans, to maximize their use, to achieve an effective digital transformation, especially in the field of developing performance measurement indicators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6- The importance of adopting predictive maintenance strategies that rely on the use of artificial intelligence, smart technologies and robotics in the inspection and maintenance of electricity systems, transportation systems and infrastructure, as well as water systems and networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7- The importance of utilizing the data provided by computerized FMMS applications to support sustainable practices, to reduce energy consumption and promote sustainability goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8- Participants call for the adoption of a mechanism that helps converge academia and research with professional sectors to address the challenges associated with digital transformation and develop innovative solutions that meet the changing needs of facilities management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
