residents within the Kingdom can apply directly through the portal using their residency number, with automatic verification that regulatory requirements are met and the procedures completed electronically, whereas the process for non-residents begins at Saudi missions and embassies abroad to obtain a digital ID, in preparation for completing the ownership application through the portal, Non-Saudi companies and entities that do not have a presence in the Kingdom and wish to acquire property must first register with the Ministry of Investment via the \u201cInvest in Saudi Arabia\u201d platform and obtain a unified number (700), before completing the ownership procedures electronically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Authority confirmed that the system allows non-Saudis\u2014including individuals, companies, and entities\u2014to own property in various regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and specifies that ownership in the cities of Riyadh and Jeddah, as well as in Makkah and Madinah, in accordance with a clear regulatory framework based on the Geographic Zones Document, which will be announced during the first quarter of 2026, while taking into account that ownership in the two holy cities is restricted to Saudi companies and Muslim individuals from within and outside the Kingdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She noted that the \u201cSaudi Real Estate\u201d portal is the official, authorized digital platform for implementing the system governing real estate ownership by non-Saudis, enabling prospective buyers to complete their procedures and ensure their compliance with the regulations and requirements stipulated by law through a streamlined process directly linked to the real estate registration system, thereby contributing to enhanced transparency and the protection of rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She added that the system aims to improve the quality of real estate projects by attracting international developers and high-quality companies, and to stimulate growth in the residential, commercial, industrial, and tourism sectors, as well as contributing to the creation of extensive job opportunities for citizens in real estate activities related to real estate projects and urban growth, thereby sustainably enhancing the real estate sector\u2019s contribution to non-oil GDP.<br>The General Real Estate Authority invited those interested in purchasing property to visit the official \u201cSaudi Real Estate\u201d portal via the following link: <a href=\"https:\/\/saudiproperties.rega.gov.sa\/home\">https:\/\/saudiproperties.rega.gov.sa\/home<\/a> Or contact the Unified Call Center at (920017183).<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"span-reading-time rt-reading-time\" style=\"display: block;\"><span class=\"rt-label rt-prefix\">Reading time: <\/span> <span class=\"rt-time\"> 2<\/span> <span class=\"rt-label rt-postfix\">Minutes<\/span><\/span>The General Real Estate Authority (GRA) announced the entry into force of the non-Saudi property ownership system and the start of the application of its provisions within the system of real estate legislation regulating the real estate market in the Kingdom, starting from today, 3 Shaaban 1447 AH corresponding to January 22, 2026 AD.
