Well-informed real estate sources have revealed that the Ministry of Housing needs more than 100 real estate development companies to carry out housing projects, in addition to securing suitable land on which to build them, as the Ministry is pleased to launch a number of housing projects, including units, apartments, and land plots, totaling approximately 184 projects, some of which are currently in the design, implementation, and launch phases across various regions, cities, and provinces of the Kingdom.

For his part, real estate expert Dr. Abdullah Al-Mughlouth explained that the number of those eligible for housing support has exceeded 620,000, noting that “the Ministry needs more than 100 development companies, and before that, it must expedite the acquisition of land located outside urban areas, address the issue of dual ownership of some valid land titles, and disburse overdue loans, adding that the number of projects currently in the design phase has reached 94, accommodating 136,600 housing units, while the number of projects put out for tender to be awarded to contractors stands at 25, accommodating 21,400 housing units, and the number of projects currently under construction is 65, accommodating 74,500 housing units.”

The real estate expert noted that “the Ministry of Housing had announced the availability of 13 million square meters, but this area is insufficient and does not meet the submitted requests,” proposing some solutions that could facilitate land acquisition, involve the private sector in land development, engage international companies, and implement infrastructure quickly and accurately.
