India invites real estate developers to build 50 million housing units

Indian Prime Minister Niyandra Modi called on Saudi companies and businesspeople to invest in his country, particularly in real estate development, emphasizing his country’s need to build 50 million housing units. He revealed that a number of infrastructure laws have been enacted to address obstacles, and to promote economic partnerships, particularly in manufacturing and technology. He noted that the Kingdom possesses the fertilizer industry that India needs and that they are ready for various forms of trade with the Kingdom.

This came during his recent meeting with Saudi businessmen at the Council of Saudi Chambers in Riyadh. For his part, Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah stated in press remarks that the Indian Prime Minister had promised to remove all obstacles to Saudi investment in India. He emphasized that “SABIC” is one of the largest investors and operates a massive research center employing 400 people in India.

It is worth noting that the volume of trade between the two countries amounts to approximately 150 billion riyals, and efforts to develop relations in this area are ongoing.
