This utmost attention was reflected in the sincere words and firm promises made by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, when he affirmed during his recent meeting with His Excellency the Minister of Housing and senior ministry officials that providing adequate housing for citizens and the means for a dignified life are among the state’s priorities and a matter of his personal concern, He, may God preserve him, said that the recently issued regulations and decisions are in line with this objective, and that everyone is aware of the care and attention the state devotes to this sector and the massive budgets it has allocated for it.

The government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques has consistently placed great emphasis on providing adequate housing for citizens, as the state has encouraged investment in this field and worked to strengthen the role of the private sector so that it can fulfill its role and become a complementary partner to the government’s efforts to achieve the goals that help provide suitable housing units to those eligible for housing support.

The government has also worked to encourage and incentivize landowners to develop their land and has enacted a number of laws and regulations designed to facilitate progress toward the construction of more housing units and subsequently transferring ownership to citizens eligible for housing support. This includes the enactment of mortgage laws and regulations, as well as the approval of supplementary and accelerated loans, as well as raising the housing loan for citizens from 300,000 to 500,000 riyals, All these blessed steps are considered among the fruits of the royal patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, may God protect him.

The government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques has been keen, in every state budget, to allocate substantial funds for the housing sector, encouraged investment, and incentivized landowners to meet the growing demand for housing. The most recent of these was the allocation of twenty billion dollars to build one hundred thousand housing units... We recall that some time ago, during the reign of King Abdullah, may God have mercy on him, the government approved 250 billion riyals to build 500,000 housing units in various regions of the Kingdom.
