Implementation of the Kadi parking lot development project in Makkah With a capacity of (246) bus stops

The the Royal Commission for Makkah City and the Holy Sites the Kadi Parking Development Project, as part of its ongoing efforts to improve the efficiency of the transportation system in Makkah City, and to prepare support sites for shuttle services leading to the Grand Mosque, thereby facilitating the movement of pilgrims, improving access to the central area, and enhancing operational readiness, particularly during the month of Ramadan, which sees an increase in the number of pilgrims and heavy traffic toward the Grand Mosque.

The project included development works that involved preparing a site with an area of approximately 96,000 square meters, and equipping it to serve as a main station within the shuttle transport system. This was achieved by establishing dedicated bus stops, organized waiting areas, loading and unloading docks, and organizing internal routes to ensure traffic efficiency and operational safety.
The work included the construction of integrated service facilities, consisting of shaded areas covering an area of up to 2,300 square meters, 16 seating areas, 8 restroom complexes, the planting of 103 trees, and site landscaping, in addition to completing the infrastructure necessary for its operation in accordance with the operational requirements of the transportation system in Makkah.

Following its development, the site accommodates 246 bus parking spaces, along with the provision of multiple waiting areas, thereby increasing its capacity, improving crowd management efficiency, and supporting shuttle bus operations—a key element in facilitating access for pilgrims to the Grand Mosque.
The implementation of this project is part of a package of projects the Royal Commission is undertaking to develop transportation sites in the city of Makkah, enhance the efficiency of the infrastructure supporting traffic flow, and improve the experience of pilgrims, thereby strengthening the level of organization and safety, and meeting operational requirements during peak seasons.
