In implementation of the strategy to qualify and train national talent to enter the labor market, the Ministry of Labor signed several agreements with various private-sector companies, most notably a memorandum of understanding with Saudi Telecom Company (STC) at the Ministry’s headquarters in Riyadh to train, qualify, and support citizens in the project to Saudize the sale and maintenance of mobile phones and accessories, under the patronage of Minister of Labor Dr. Mufarrij bin Saad Al-Haqbani.

This community contribution by the company supports the decision to restrict employment in the sale and maintenance of mobile phones and accessories to Saudi men and women, with the aim of training, qualifying, and employing the national workforce and preparing them to enter the labor market, as well as supporting and sustaining those already working in the sector.

The agreement was signed on behalf of the Ministry by the Undersecretary for Planning, Development, and Information, Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Abu Thaneen, and on behalf of Saudi Telecom Company by its CEO, Dr. Khalid bin Hussein Bayari.

In his remarks on this occasion, the Minister of Labor expressed his gratitude to Saudi Telecom Company for its initiative to support the Saudization of the telecommunications sector, expressing his hope that this agreement would mark the beginning of joint efforts between the Ministry of Labor and the company, explaining that this agreement marks the start of ongoing efforts to localize the sale and maintenance of mobile phones.
