<The Higher Authority for the Development of Riyadh City yesterday allocated 4 sites for the establishment of housing complexes for «single» workers in the outskirts of the city after approving the regulations governing their establishment, which aim to provide appropriate housing for all categories of unskilled workers, technicians and supervisors, in addition to housing projects for administrators and engineers.
The Authority stated in a statement that the sites allowed to establish the complexes must be outside the third ring road in the north, outside the third ring road in the east until it meets Khurais Road, south of Khurais Road until the limits of development protection, outside the second ring road in the south until Jeddah Highway and outside the second ring road in the west after determining its route. The Riyadh Municipality has also inventoried the lands owned by the Municipality and available for investment that are consistent with the site controls and offered them to investors, and directed that all labor residential complexes be linked to the operations room of the Riyadh Police, and a security plan to control gatherings when needed. The Authority stipulated the building controls for singles housing complexes that the minimum land area should be 80,000 square meters, the maximum percentage of land coverage with buildings should be 50 percent, and the minimum percentage of unbuilt areas should be 50 percent, including streets, open areas, open sports fields and parking lots, and the maximum height of buildings is four floors and the minimum height of fences surrounding the complex is four meters.
