The value of projects awarded in March 2026 rose by 457.1% compared to February, reaching 15.6 billion riyals, up from 2.8 billion riyals in February, according to the report “A Look at the construction sector” issued by the Saudi Contractors Authority.
The report noted that the number of projects awarded rose by 175% during the same month, reaching 11 projects compared to four in February.
The construction sector is the largest in terms of project value, with a total of 9 projects worth 15.5 billion riyals, while the water and energy sector recorded two projects worth 150 million riyals.
The projects awarded in March 2026 were distributed across several sectors, including two projects in “educational facilities” worth 3.975 billion riyals, one project in the commercial sector worth 3.750 billion riyals, one hotel project worth 2.497 billion riyals, and two projects in “sports and recreational facilities” worth 2.478 billion riyals, in addition to projects in the building, hospital, public utilities, and power plant sectors, with varying values.
According to the report, the Riyadh region led in terms of the number of projects, with 9 projects worth 15.513 billion riyals, representing 82% of the total, while Makkah recorded one project worth 99.750 million riyals, and Najran recorded one project worth 50.250 million riyals.
The report projected the completion of 6 projects in 2032 with a total value exceeding 11.775 billion riyals, two projects in 2028 worth 591 million riyals, and other projects in 2026, 2027, and 2030 of varying values.
The report also projected that 18 projects would be awarded in April 2026, with more than 50% of them concentrated in the construction sector, primarily in the Madinah and Eastern regions.
