At a time when the cement sector in the Kingdom is undergoing remarkable transformations, recent data revealed a clear decline in sales during March 2026, driven by seasonal factors, in conjunction with the continued concentration of market share in the hands of a limited number of major companies.Riyadh Capital showed that three companies account for about 40.5% of the total Saudi cement market, where Yamama Cement leads with a share of 15.3%, followed by Qassim Cement at 13.8% and Saudi Cement at 11.4%, while the remaining 59.5% is distributed among 13 other companies.
Gross Cement Sales
In terms of monthly performance, the report indicated that Gross cement sales in the domestic market declined by 7% year-on-year and 21% month-on-month, reaching 3.4 million tons during March 2026. The decline was attributed to the coincidence of the month with Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, which included about 19 days of Ramadan in addition to the Eid holiday, compared to the full month of Ramadan in March last year.
Year-on-year, 11 out of 17 companies recorded a decline in sales, with Saudi Cement leading the decline at 456 thousand tons, down 92 thousand tons or 17%, followed by Arabian Cement, which recorded 194 thousand tons, down 77 thousand tons or 28%.
Arabia Cement.
On a monthly basis, sales declined for all companies without exception, led by Yamama Cement, which recorded 499 thousand tons, down 153 thousand tons or 23%, followed by Arabian Cement at 194 thousand tons, down 104 thousand tons or 35%.The data also showed that domestic sales fell to 3.3 million tons, down 6% year-on-year and 22% month-on-month, as a result of seasonal effects, where the annual decline was led by Arabian Cement, while the monthly decline was led by Yamama Cement. In a related context, export sales decreased by 30% year-on-year and 7% month-on-month to 110 thousand tons, compared to 158 thousand tons during the same period last year.
