The 2016 Saudi Construction and Decoration Expo Boosts the Health of the Saudi Market and Concludes Successfully

On the evening of Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the Jeddah Convention and Events Center, the 25th edition of the Saudi Construction and Decoration Exhibition 2016 came to a close amid a large turnout of merchants, specialists, and professionals in the fields of construction and building materials, who flocked to the exhibition; the four-day event attracted more than 10,000 visitors.

The latest technologies in building and decoration materials

The exhibition was held under the gracious patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Mishaal bin Majid bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Jeddah — and featured more than 200 companies from Saudi Arabia, Arab countries, and around the world. The exhibition showcased the latest technologies related to building materials, construction equipment, ceramic flooring, cleaning and waste management equipment, management solutions, cement products, construction compounds, curtains,, decorative engravings, the door and window industry, electrical products, electronic equipment, fiberglass products, flooring materials, appliance products, heat-control films, heavy equipment companies, decor, furnishings, kitchen products, lighting equipment, marble and stone products, maintenance, the paint industry, pipes, plumbing, building materials, drilling tools, sanitary fixtures, security and protection systems, furniture, steel, metal products, panels, walls, and wood products.

Optimism Regarding the Real Estate Industry

Waleed Waked, General Manager of Al-Harthi Exhibitions, highlighted the success of this year’s exhibition and the company’s commitment, as the organizer, to meeting market needs and requirements by showcasing the world’s leading manufacturers and suppliers, enabling local industry professionals to access the latest solutions in construction technology anddesign. In addition to visitors, exhibitors also benefited from the exhibition by concluding numerous profitable deals.

At the conclusion of this edition, and despite the difficult conditions facing the economy, exhibitors and visitors expressed optimism about the prospects for the real estate industry in Saudi Arabia in the coming period, as the exhibition witnessed the signing of numerous major contracts and the formation of alliances and partnerships among regional and global leaders in the construction, building, and design industries.

Ahmed Al-Saqqaf, one of the exhibition’s visitors, said that the event provided them with an opportunity to network with private entities involved in housing construction, as well as leading manufacturers and suppliers in the fields of construction, decoration, kitchens, aluminum, and electrical systems, in addition to the most renowned contracting and engineering consulting firms both locally and internationally.

Significant interest from visitors and participants

For his part, Fares Al-Baisani, director of one of the participating paint companies, commented, «We make a point of participating every year in the «Saudi Building and Decoration Exhibition» which provides us with an important platform for direct communication with our current and potential customers and for strengthening business relationships with suppliers, distributors, and consultants. We are certainly delighted with the overwhelming turnout the event has seen from visitors since the very first day.»

In addition to visitors" interest in residential construction, companies specializing in decoration and design attracted the attention of women, as participating companies showcased products for the ideal home, presenting the latest innovations in furniture, home goods, lighting, and numerous design elements for contemporary living.

Munira Hasnawi, who visited the exhibition on its final day, noted that this year’s exhibition stood out from the previous one in terms of the large number of participating companies, as well as the quality of technology, design, and new features of the products showcased by interior design firms.

Among the highlights of this year’s edition of the Saudi Building and Decoration Exhibition was the significant participation of the Second Zhejiang Province Exhibition from China, which included 90 companies, in addition to other companies from China, Egypt, Turkey, Bahrain, and Lebanon.
