Jeddah Municipality has started implementing evacuation notices for 129 buildings in the Galil neighborhood, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance public safety and reduce the risks that may threaten lives and property as a result of the deterioration of some buildings.The Municipality explained that the specialized teams of the General Department of Emergency and Crisis began implementing the field notices for the buildings covered by the procedure, in preparation for completing the rest of the approved statutory steps in coordination with the relevant authorities, in order to ensure that the situation is addressed in accordance with the applicable regulatory frameworks.

This move comes within the Jeddah Municipality's program to address falling buildings across the governorate, which during the past periods witnessed the implementation of similar actions in a number of neighborhoods, including Al-Faisaliah, Al-Rabwa, Farouk and Ruwais, through field monitoring operations, assessing cases and completing the necessary legal procedures for buildings that require intervention.

The Municipality confirmed that it continues to apply the regular procedures for dealing with dilapidated buildings, which begins with monitoring and documenting the condition of the building and assessing the level of danger, through notifying the owners and giving them the legal deadline to correct the situation, to take appropriate measures to address or remove buildings that pose a threat to public safety, which contributes to improving the urban landscape and raising the quality of life in the province.

The Municipality confirmed that it continues to apply the regular procedures for dealing with dilapidated buildings.
