The Saudi Contractors Authority a set of health and technical requirements that must be met in dormitories for individuals, with the aim of providing a safe and suitable living environment for workers, while emphasizing employers" commitment to approved standards, safety requirements, and basic services.

The Contractors Authority emphasized the need for employers to comply with the health and technical requirements for collective housing facilities for individuals, in accordance with the specified regulations and specifications, The Authority clarified that collective housing for individuals must be provided as part of activities related to national services, provided that it complies with the approved technical requirements and specifications.

It emphasized the importance of ensuring that these housing facilities meet safety requirements in accordance with Civil Defense instructions, including the provision of a sufficient number of fire extinguishers and other necessary safety measures. The Authority also emphasized the need to select suitable locations for collective housing designated for individuals outside urban areas, avoiding unsuitable land or sites located in hazardous zones.

It noted that if collective housing is established outside urban areas and on the outskirts of cities, a medical clinic providing first aid must be available to handle emergencies. Regarding workers" rights, the Authority clarified that an individual is entitled to use the housing for the duration of the contractual relationship with the employer, until the termination of that relationship.

It also emphasized that workers bear no financial burden for using the collective housing allocated to them. The Authority added that the employer must contract with specialized establishments to provide food that is appropriate and suitable for the nature of the work, in facilities where collective housing is available for individuals outside urban areas.
