The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing announced that 51,072 Saudi families have moved into their first homes from the beginning of 2026 through the end of May, as part of its ongoing efforts to enable Saudi families to own suitable housing and to provide diverse housing and financing solutions to eligible families in various regions of the Kingdom.

Housing Support Services
The Ministry clarified that the total number of households benefiting from the services housing support during the same period reached 38,471 Saudi families, reflecting the continued pace of housing empowerment and the acceleration of homeownership procedures through an integrated system of housing and financing programs and solutions.
It noted that the total number of subsidized contracts for beneficiaries since the launch of the housing program in 2017 through the end of May 2026 reached 1,040,215 contracts for Saudi families across various regions of the Kingdom, a figure that reflects the program’s cumulative impact in enhancing homeownership opportunities and raising homeownership rates.

The Riyadh Region Accounts for the Largest Share of Subsidized Contracts
The Ministry noted that the Riyadh Region accounted for the largest share of total subsidized contracts, followed by the Makkah region, then the Eastern Province, and then Jazan, reflecting the broad reach of housing support programs and the growing demand for housing solutions across the Kingdom.
The Ministry emphasized that its objectives are not limited to enabling Saudi families to own homes, but extend to developing integrated residential communities that provide a high quality of life, and contribute to building vibrant and sustainable urban environments that meet residents" needs and keep pace with their future aspirations, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
It added that the Sakani Program continues to offer a diverse range of housing solutions and options, including ready-to-move-in residential units, units under construction as part of off-plan projects, as well as the option for self-construction and residential land, thereby providing multiple options tailored to the diverse needs and preferences of Saudi families and giving beneficiaries greater flexibility in choosing suitable housing.

Developing Integrated Communities
The Ministry noted that housing projects implemented in partnership with real estate developers contribute to the development of integrated communities that combine housing, services, public facilities, and open spaces, thereby enhancing quality of life, elevating the housing experience, and embodying the shift toward vibrant communities that provide a comprehensive environment for Saudi families.
It emphasized that collaboration between government agencies, the private sector, and financial institutions has helped increase the housing supply, expand homeownership opportunities, and streamline the homeownership process for beneficiaries, thereby supporting the sustainability of the housing sector and bolstering confidence in the solutions and options offered to Saudi families.
The Ministry noted that these efforts have helped raise the homeownership rate among Saudi families to 66.24% by the end of 2025, marking continued progress toward the target of the Housing Program—one of the Saudi Vision 2030 programs —which aims to reach a homeownership rate of 70%.
The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing reaffirmed its commitment to continuing to expand the housing supply and launch more housing projects and options in partnership with the private sector across various regions of the Kingdom, thereby helping to meet the needs of Saudi families, achieve balance in the real estate market, and support the building of thriving communities.
