The Ministry of Commerce and Industry imposed fines and penalties on more than 200 industrial facilities in various regions of the Kingdom during the first half of this year 1437 AH, as part of its campaign to verify the quality of national products and ensure their conformity with approved standards and support the development and encouragement of the industrial sector, make it attractive to investors and seek to create an industrial environment free of violations.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued 82 decisions to close violating industrial establishments, issued 87 administrative warnings and 54 decisions.
The Ministry's Industrial Violations Review Committee issued 82 decisions to close offending industrial facilities, 87 administrative warnings, 54 quantity seizure decisions, and 16 decisions to stop production lines. The committee referred 7 cases of commercial fraud and 3 cases of commercial concealment to the competent authorities in accordance with regulatory procedures.
The violations monitored by the committee included production without obtaining a final license, the lack of conformity of some products with the standard specifications adopted in the Kingdom, the lack of safety and environmental requirements, in addition to a number of violations of the anti-commercial fraud system and others.
