The Ministry of Housing has completed preparations to set up and launch an online portal for fees related to unregistered land, in which the Ministry of the Interior—represented by the National Information Center—the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Commerce, and other relevant ministries and agencies are participating. This step aims to expedite the procedures for reporting land subject to the system, and to make the process easier for citizens by sparing them the trouble of visiting the Ministry’s headquarters and branches. The Ministry noted that this initiative is an extension of the electronic procedures it has consistently employed and implemented across all its programs and initiatives, and in line with the Saudi Vision 2030"s emphasis on expanding the scope of e-services provided to citizens across all levels and sectors.
The Ministry explained that the website is comprehensive and characterized by its simplicity, clarity, and flexibility, noting that it will provide visitors with a number of procedures and services, most notably the reporting and registration of land subject to fees in accordance with the regulations to be issued shortly by the Council of Ministers. It will also provide information on how land is assessed and the decisions issued regarding its owners.
It noted that the process of declaring and registering land will be available for a period of 6 months from the date of announcement of the targeted cities, emphasizing that this precedes the collection of fees amounting to 2.5%.
