Simon Collis, the British Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, confirmed that the British Embassy is prepared to provide the necessary support for a program of visits by companies specializing in construction and the fitting out of residential units in particular, as well as coordinating between them and Saudi counterparts and identifying opportunities for companies in this sector, including master plans, design, and other required technical support.
In the same vein, the British ambassador expressed his government’s welcome of the Saudi Cabinet’s approval to select companies from multiple countries, including Britain, and granted the Minister of Housing and his deputy the authority to negotiate with Chinese, British, French, Malaysian, Turkish, and Egyptian companies to participate in the construction of housing units across Saudi Arabia and to take part in the implementation of housing projects planned for the Kingdom, However, he did not specify the names of any particular companies from his country that could participate.
Colis noted that there are thousands of British companies operating in Saudi Arabia in various sectors such as education, petrochemicals, construction, water, pharmaceuticals, transportation, healthcare, insurance, consulting of all kinds, banking, and infrastructure.
