Housing Minister Majid Al-Hogail reiterated that the ministry has formed a three-member specialized committee to assess the value of land subject to the fees, The assessment will be based on several criteria, the most important of which are the land’s location within urban boundaries, its uses, its topography, and the building regulations applicable to it, as well as the availability of public services and access to public utilities.

In the same vein, Al-Hogail announced that the system for levying fees on undeveloped land will take effect starting today, Wednesday, the 10th of Ramadan, noting that reporting of land subject to the fees will be done through a dedicated website.

The Minister of Housing explained that the move to impose fees on undeveloped land will balance supply and demand in the real estate market, leading to the availability of housing units and developed land at reasonable prices by reducing monopolistic practices.
