”Saudi Paper develops its products according to international standards

As part of its efforts to expand and develop its production in accordance with international standards, the Saudi Paper Manufacturing Company signed a memorandum of understanding with the Italian company Ricard to develop the first and second production lines at the company’s main plant in Dammam, The memorandum was signed by Engineer Abdullah bin Ouda Al-Ghubain, CEO of the company, and Dr. Marco Genesi on behalf of Ricard. Work on upgrading the first production line is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2014 to increase its output by approximately 19,000 metric tons per year, The development of the second production line is also expected to be completed before the end of 2015, with an anticipated increase of 12,000 metric tons per year.
Upon completion of these development projects, the company’s production capacity will increase from the current 120,000 metric tons to 150,000 metric tons by the end of 2015. This increase represents 26% of the company’s current production capacity. This will meet the demand for Saudi Paper Manufacturing Company’s products, satisfy the needs of the local and regional markets, maintain its leading position in the local and regional markets, and secure raw materials for the company’s downstream companies in Kuwait, Turkey, and Morocco.
Meanwhile, the company has begun engineering work on a project to develop an industrial wastewater treatment and reclamation plant at its main factory in Dammam, which will maintain the high quality of the company’s products while also helping to protect the environment and conserve water. The company plans to finance these projects through the Industrial Development Fund and self-financing from the company’s own resources.
