Closed 1788 facilities. Ministry of Labor inspections result in the localization of 19,000 establishments in the telecommunications sector

The Ministry of Labor and Social Development's decisions to Saudize the telecommunications sector, which began implementation 60 days ago, resulted in the Saudization of 18,781 establishments in the telecommunications sector in various regions of the Kingdom. The Ministry of Labor's decision to limit work in the sector to the sale and maintenance activity of communication devices and accessories to Saudi men and women, thus contributing to the employment of young job seekers in this sector.

Job stability and financial return

The localization of jobs has opened thousands of opportunities for Saudi youth to join the telecommunications labor market. In this regard, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development for Inspection and Work Environment Development, Dr. Fahad bin Abdullah Al-Owaidi, stressed that the localization of more than 18 thousand establishments provides job stability and appropriate financial returns, pointing out that the ministry worked to intensify its inspection tours after the results it achieved on the ground, as it carried out 22032 visits to separate telecom sites in all regions of the Kingdom to ensure that the decision is implemented, stressing that inspection visits will continue until this sector is fully settled on the first of Dhu al-Hijjah of the current year

Closing 1788 establishments

The seriousness of the inspection campaigns carried out by the Ministries of Labor and Social Development, Municipal and Rural Affairs, Trade and Investment, along with the security support, resulted in the seizure of 3159 violations, 2320 of which were referred to the penalties committee, while the inspection teams closed 1788 establishments, including 498 in Asir region, while warning 839 other shops that were closed, The inspection campaigns tasked with following up on the decision to localize the telecommunications sector by 50% in its first phase, and the Eastern Province ranked first with 765 violations, while Najran was the lowest with 14 violations.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Development called on everyone to report violations of the decision to localize the telecommunications sector through the website,

High percentage of compliant establishments

Recent statistics revealed that the number of establishments complying with the decision increased from 669 establishments at the beginning of the inspection tours on the first day of Ramadan to 15,748 establishments as of Shawwal 18, and the Eastern Province ranked first in terms of the number of compliant establishments with 4828 establishments, followed by Riyadh with 2278 establishments.

He added that the geographical distribution of establishments showed that the Eastern Province led the largest number of telecommunications shops, with 5310 establishments visited, followed by Riyadh with 2607 establishments, Makkah with 2345 establishments, Qassim with 1882, Asir with 1689, and Madinah with 1311, while the rest of the visits were distributed to Hail, Tabuk, Al-Baha, Al-Jawf, Northern Borders, and Jizan.
