The latest statistics show that more than 500 landowners have taken the initiative to register their land located within the urban areas of Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam in the "White Land" fees program in preparation for paying the fees.

In the first phase, the Ministry of Housing is focusing on large plots of land to address land hoarding and promote development, ensuring an increase in supply and a decrease in real estate prices; this contributes to increasing home ownership among citizens at affordable prices.Land value is assessed based on five criteria: the land’s location, its uses, its topography, the building regulations applicable to it, and the availability of public services on the site. The decision will be implemented in four phases, with a six-month interval between each phase; the minister has the authority to shorten the prescribed period before the start of the next phase, according to sources.

It should be noted that the six-month registration period ends on 13/3/1438 AH. Failure to register land within the specified period will constitute a violation of the law, exposing the landowner to a fine of up to 2.5 percent of the land’s value.
