Riyadh Chamber: Our interest in the exhibitions and tourism sector to boost the national economy and achieve Vision 2030

Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center Board Member and Chairman of the Tourism Committee at Riyadh Chamber, Mr. Majid Al-Hokair, stressed the committee's keenness to strengthen and update the agreements and understandings concluded by the committee with the sectors related to the tourism sector, in particular the General Authority for Tourism and Heritage, in line with the requirements of the current stage in which the Kingdom is heading towards achieving Vision 2030, especially since the tourism sector and the exhibition and conference sector is one of the important sectors that are counted on to achieve advanced positions in the goals of the vision.

Al Hokair said that the Chamber views the tourism sector as an important resource to enhance the country's resources and the urgent need to increase the investment of its untapped potential and activate its investments, in order to serve the objectives of Vision 2030 to diversify sources of income and invest all the Kingdom's human and natural resources to raise the national output and reduce dependence on the export of crude oil as the only main source of income.

Riyadh Exhibition Center. Al Hokair explained that the Riyadh Exhibition Center, as it begins the seventeenth session of the current board of directors of the Chamber, will put all its capabilities to promote the objectives and directions of Vision 2030 regarding the development of the exhibition and conference industry, and enhance its capabilities to compete in this sector, which is witnessing great growth in the region, pointing out that the establishment of a strong exhibition and conference industry in the Kingdom contributes to achieving the objectives of the Kingdom's 2030 vision to diversify sources of income.
He added that the Center will seek in cooperation and coordination with the relevant authorities to overcome the obstacles that plague the exhibition environment in the Kingdom and provide the facilities required by the sector from the concerned government agencies to make the Kingdom a strong competitor and attractive for exhibitions and conferences activities.
