Abdulrahman Al-Bukairi, supervisor of real estate finance at the Ministry of Housing, explained that the easy mortgage program is not available to everyone, but is only available to housing subsidy recipients and those on the waiting lists at the Ministry of Housing and the Real Estate Development Fund, which are 15 % to 20 % of applicants.

In an interview with CNBC Arabia, he said that the “Easy Mortgage” program came with the aim of helping those who are able to pay the monthly financing installments to own homes, but are hindered by the down payment, and this program will help reduce the cost of financing for the citizen.

He noted that the ministry is working on the goal of reducing the waiting time for a housing loan from 15 years to only 5 years.

He said that the number of housing loans will be in the range of 100,000 to 120,000 per year.

The Cabinet approved that the Ministry of Housing, in coordination with the Ministry of Finance and the Monetary Authority, will implement a mortgage program called "Easy Mortgage" for beneficiaries of the Ministry of Housing programs.
