The Safety and Prevention Conference, recently organized by the Saudi Council of Engineers in the Eastern Province,  and recommended establishing a government agency dedicated to occupational safety and health that would serve as the authority on safety procedures in the Kingdom, in cooperation with all relevant authorities, as well as the implementation of the Saudi Building Code by specialized agencies and the introduction of a major in safety and fire prevention engineering at public and private universities in Saudi Arabia, as no university currently offers a degree in safety engineering, and the introduction of a diploma in safety and fire prevention by technical institutes and colleges.
The conference, held under the slogan ”Adherence to Safety Standards Is a National Duty,“

the standardization of all safety standards across government agencies and the private sector, and the development of elementary and middle school curricula focused on safety and fire prevention procedures to instill awareness among members of society, and to continue holding the Safety and Fire Prevention Conference and an accompanying exhibition showcasing the latest developments in safety and fire prevention every two years, in addition to the implementation of the Saudi Building Code by the relevant authorities.
Over the course of two days, the conference discussed ways to protect people and property by developing an advanced safety strategy as part of a national campaign to address safety, fire prevention, planning, and design in the built environment.
