Residential rents in Qatar are continuing to decline, and Abdulrahman Al-Najjar, Executive Vice President of Sak Holding Group, explained, “”Even if they don’t fall, their stability effectively means a decline, since there’s supposed to be an annual increase of 10%–20%. However, this increase hasn’t materialized this year, and in our analysis of the market, we consider the absence of an increase to be a decline,", noting that, despite this, rental prices have fallen this year in some areas—with declines of 10% in some cases and up to 30% in others, particularly outside Doha.
Al-Najjar added that the results we are seeing today in our market analysis indicate that citizens are moving toward purchasing built properties that generate income, as investors have refrained from buying vacant land or speculating on land; as the market needs built properties that generate income.
